Part Four

As you laid on the couch, everything seemed to ache more than it had been before. Everything around you seemed be much more cold, no matter how high of a fever you had. Your head seemed to be pounding much harder and your throat seemed to much worse now. You blinked slightly as you were starting to wake up, slowly turning your head to look to your left. Your eyes soon land on Dib again; or rather, where he had been before. 'W-wha.....' You could only think, groaning as you tried to move. You took in a sharp breath as your body started to throb and ache. All you could do was make a weak groan. Your vision began to swim in and out of focus as you tried to move.

It was at this moment that you didn't notice Dib in the doorway with a large cup and there was a shattering sound of porcelain hitting the floor; but it seemed to be far away from you as you tried hard to will your body to move. At that instant, you felt something grip your hand, causing pins and needles to shoot through it and a stiffness took over.
"________...?" He said, before his eyes went wide.  "________.... Y-your hands...."
You took in a harsh breath at the sudden sharp feeling.
"S-stop... I-it hurts...!" You snapped a bit angrily.
Dib jumped a bit, but held your hand gently.
"Y-your hands have gone n-numb..."
"Y-you're HURTING me..! You nearly screamed and started coughing shortly afterwards.
"H-hey... ______.... T-take it easy.... The feeling is just coming back to your- hey!" Dib said as you pulled away weakly.
"D-don't-..." You tried to say but felt a pain in you chest, causing the air to catch in your throat.
"______..... I am going to help you...." He soothed, placing a comforting hand against your cheek, brushing away a tear that has slipped down it.
"Please.... Please don't cry...?" Dib soothed softly. He felt your forehead frowning as your fever seemed to have skyrocketed to a higher point.
"I-it hurts....." You croaked at the sudden pains in your body.
"Sshhhhh...."
Dib gently hugged you in hopes of calming you down, wanting you to know he was there to help you.
"I'm here, _________....... Y-you're okay.... It's going to be alright....."
Your face flushed a deep red as your head rested against his shoulder, your eyes becoming heavy from lack of actual sleep.
Dib held you, completely forgetting about the broken mug laying in a small shard heap on the carpet for the time being. He knew that you needed him there to make sure everything was alright. You couldn't fight the exhaustion any longer and you slowly drifted off to sleep.
